Terms of Service
1. Agreement and Scope
These Terms govern your use of Social Muslims on the web, mobile app, support channels, payment flows, events, video-introduction tools, and related services. By creating an account, joining the free profile book, applying for curated introductions, buying credits, attending events, or purchasing a paid Nikkah introduction package, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service Classification and Purpose
Social Muslims is a private Nikkah introduction service and members community for Muslim professionals seeking marriage. Our purpose is to support serious, marriage-intent introductions that may lead to Nikkah or civil marriage. Social Muslims is not a dating platform, social browsing app, friendship app, escort service, or casual relationship service.
Members do not receive an unrestricted right to browse, message, or introduce themselves to unlimited strangers. Introductions are curated, profile visibility is limited, and direct connection only proceeds where both sides consent through the service flow or through staff-supported introduction handling.
3. What Social Muslims Offers
Depending on your account status and purchases, the service may include:
- free profile book participation and eligibility review;
- curated consideration for Nikkah-focused introductions;
- paid fixed-term prepaid Nikkah introduction packages;
- legacy recurring memberships for certain existing users or products;
- credits, events, identity verification, scheduling, introductions, video calls, and support.
We may change or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for safety, compliance, product improvements, fraud prevention, or commercial reasons.
4. Eligibility and Member Intent
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must have legal capacity to enter a binding contract.
- You must use the service only for lawful, genuine, marriage-intent Nikkah introduction purposes or related support.
- You must not create an account for another person without authority.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.
- You must not use the service if you are seeking casual dating, romantic-only exploration, friendship, social browsing, escorting, immigration arrangements, financial arrangements, or any other off-purpose use.
5. Accounts, Accuracy, and Security
You are responsible for your device security, login credentials, and activity carried out through your account unless caused by our fault. You must not share access, misrepresent yourself, evade restrictions, or use false photos, fake profiles, or misleading material omissions that could distort the introduction process.
6. Service Standards and No Outcome Guarantee
We aim to provide a serious, safety-conscious, Nikkah-focused introduction service. However, we do not guarantee:
- any minimum number of candidates, introductions, calls, meetings, responses, acceptances, or outcomes;
- compatibility, family approval, Nikkah, civil marriage, or any specific outcome;
- that every user is truthful, safe, single, emotionally suitable, financially suitable, or aligned with your expectations.
Any written commercial promise we make at checkout or in direct support communications applies only as specifically described there and does not create a guarantee of Nikkah, civil marriage, or personal outcome.
7. Verification, Safety, and Offline Meetings
We may offer phone verification, identity verification, moderation, blocking, reporting, and staff review. These measures reduce risk but do not eliminate it. You remain responsible for your own judgment, off-platform communications, transport, accommodation, gifts, financial decisions, family introductions, and in-person meeting safety. Social Muslims is not an emergency service, counselling service, immigration adviser, religious authority, marriage officiant, or guarantee of Nikkah.
8. No Dating Platform Use
- No casual dating, romantic-only relationship seeking, friendship-only use, swiping-style browsing, or use that conflicts with serious Nikkah intent.
- No harassment, stalking, threats, coercion, blackmail, fraud, impersonation, or illegal conduct.
- No sharing of unlawful sexual content, intimate images without consent, or any child sexual abuse material.
- No hate speech, violent threats, extremist content, discrimination, or incitement.
- No scraping, botting, reverse engineering, malware, credential abuse, or attempts to bypass security or moderation controls.
- No publishing another person’s private information, screenshots, recordings, or call content without all permissions and lawful basis required by law.
- No unrelated advertising, recruitment, escorting, spam, solicitation, or other off-purpose commercial use.
9. User Content and Licence
You keep ownership of your content, but you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, moderate, review, and use it as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, investigate, improve, and enforce the service. You confirm you have the right to upload the content and that it does not violate law, privacy rights, or these Terms.
10. Reporting Illegal Content and Complaints
You can report illegal content, abusive behaviour, or safety concerns through the in-product report tools where available or through our Support page. You can also complain about moderation or service handling outcomes through support. We may remove content, restrict access, preserve evidence, and report matters to law enforcement, the National Crime Agency, or other authorities where required or reasonably necessary.
11. Product Types and Billing Models
Social Muslims currently uses multiple product models:
- Free profile book access: no paid commitment, subject to moderation and eligibility rules.
- Fixed-term prepaid Nikkah introduction package: a time-limited digital introduction service, such as 6 months of curated introduction access.
- Legacy recurring memberships: certain older Stripe or Apple subscriptions that continue until cancelled under their applicable billing rules.
- Credits and events: separate one-off purchases governed by the checkout details shown at purchase.
12. Fixed-Term Prepaid Nikkah Introduction Packages
Unless the checkout flow clearly says otherwise, new paid service sales are sold as fixed-term prepaid Nikkah introduction packages, not as open-ended rolling subscriptions. The package gives you access to the paid service for the defined service term described at purchase. You request that supply starts promptly after purchase if you continue through the checkout.
13. Legacy Recurring Memberships
Some existing users may still hold legacy recurring memberships purchased through Stripe or Apple. Those memberships remain subject to the recurring-billing rules that applied when they were sold, including the provider’s management tools and any legally required cancellation or renewal rights. We may stop offering recurring sales to new users without affecting lawful rights on legacy plans.
14. Cancellation and Refunds
- For fixed-term prepaid Nikkah introduction packages, you may be asked to give express consent for immediate performance before payment completes.
- Where the law allows cancellation during a statutory cooling-off period, your rights depend on what was bought, whether supply has started, and whether you expressly asked us to start supply during that period.
- If a fixed-term digital service has already started at your request, we may refuse or reduce a refund to reflect the part already supplied, performed, or committed, to the extent permitted by law.
- We do not rely on blanket “no refund under any circumstances” wording. Any refund restriction is subject to mandatory law, fairness requirements, and what has actually been supplied.
- Used credits, completed introductions, completed event services, and fully or materially performed service time are generally non-refundable unless mandatory law requires otherwise or we decide otherwise as a goodwill remedy.
- If a technical failure materially prevents delivery of a paid service, our first step may be remediation, rescheduling, replacement service, or account correction before any refund decision.
- Nothing in these Terms affects rights you may have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations, or other mandatory consumer law.
15. Moderation, Online Safety, and Enforcement
We operate moderation, reporting, complaints, and enforcement measures designed to reduce the risk of illegal content and unlawful behaviour on the service. We may investigate reports, remove content, limit visibility, suspend accounts, prevent introductions, preserve evidence, and cooperate with public authorities. We also maintain internal risk-assessment and escalation records in support of our UK online-safety obligations.
16. Communications
You agree that we may send transactional or service-critical messages by app, push, email, SMS, WhatsApp, or phone where reasonably necessary for login, verification, safety, billing, support, scheduling, reminders, and paid-service administration. Marketing messages are handled separately in accordance with applicable law and your choices.
17. Privacy and Sensitive Data
Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Because this is a Muslim Nikkah introduction service, the information you choose to provide may reveal religion and other sensitive personal data. You should only provide information you are comfortable using for matrimonial-intent curation, safety review, and introductions.
18. Disclaimers and Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory consumer rights. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- the service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis;
- we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or off-platform conduct of other users or third parties;
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for loss of profits, reputation, goodwill, anticipated savings, or opportunity; and
- where permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for claims arising from the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and GBP 100.
19. Suspension and Termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, chargeback risk, legal compliance, service integrity, or enforcement of these Terms. Where appropriate, we may also retain relevant information for legal, safety, fraud, or evidential purposes.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, guidance, regulation, suppliers, product design, pricing, or operations. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. If law requires a more specific notice or consent process, we will use that instead.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except that mandatory consumer protections in your country of habitual residence may still apply where required by law.
